Re: Another Copyright Situation



Maine has a similar law.  So illegitimate births must be removed from the
file, or redacted if the source is in ledger or similar format, before
filming can happen.

<<I was told from a curator in a neighboring town that they could not
microfilm local records of Births, deaths and marriages
that were created after 1840...because of references to outof wedlockbirths
that may or maynot appear in these records.
It is apparently a Mass. law.  Has anyone encountered such a situation?>>
