Packaging History

An interesting book I came across is "The Total Package", by Thomas Hine.
"The secret history and hidden meanings of boxes, bottles, cans, and other
persuasive containers..." I'm not certain how authoritative it is, but it
may be of interest to any consumer-goods related archives. Did you know that
Budweiser can artwork has Victorian influence? Seems like a lot of what was
then innovative packaging is discussed, color associations and what that
conveys to consumers, and non-American packaging as well. Just thought this
might be of interest on a grey, soon-to-drizzle, in the mid-70's day here in
mid-TN.
