Re: Research Collections and ILLs

An interesting note - I have a professor's research collection from one of
his publications. It contained numerous copies (made in the 1970s) of
original documents from another repository. There was a note with them that
says basically "destroy, do not file" from the original repository.

And here's the rub - the original repository no longer has the original
documents (or copies). They were lost, misfiled, or destroyed somewhere
between 1975 and 2000. I've had two researchers (in two weeks) already say
numerous blessings that we have the copies, although not complete. I kept
them in the collection on the advice of someone connected with the original
repository.
