I don't know about Luna, but we are quite happy with CONTENTdm. It is being
adopted by the Utah Academic Libraries Consortium to support a statewide
approach to imaging.
We use it for the Shipler Collection of glass plate negatives (http://history.utah.org/photos/c275/)
and the University of Utah uses it for a variety of projects (http://www.lib.utah.edu/digital/digcol.html).
As you can see, it is very flexible and allows each project to define display
formats and searches.
