Re: OH equipment



Having done a small amount of oral history work, one thing I know for sure is that the type of microphone used is just [and perhaps more] important than the recorder used.  What is needed is a microphone that will record the questions AND RESPONSES clearly without a lot of background or ambient noise.  Generally, a quality lapel mico for BOTH questioner and respondent is needed but, if necessary, only one for the respondent is necessary.  But it is very necessary.
