Saints
Hello folks--I've been meaning to add my thought to one of the subjects
everyone is tired of--patron saints of archives/archivists.
Never mind St. laurence, let's figure out for ourselves some deserving
hero/heroine of archivy, and establish him/her as our 'icon/guardian
angel/whatever.' Someone we think of when archives problems arise, or whose
example inspires us, etc. I'd nominate Hypatia, who died trying to protect
the ancient library at Alexandria, except that I think a more recent figure
would be better. Only qualification is that the person is no longer alive.
Any nominations?
