Just as annoying as the lack of subject line is the lack of a signature
block. This is especially annoying when the email address consists only of
an alpha-numeric name.

The signature block allows one to know where the poster is from, what type
of institution, credentials, etc. They don't have to be long, but they do
need to be informative.

Similarly if the subject of your post is different than what you are
replying to then change the subject header (for example the one used here)
