Ground broken for center at Roosevelt library
HYDE PARK -- He had been discarded as a
  dreamer. His liberal views ended his tenure as
  vice president when Harry Truman was selected
  during the 1944 Democratic convention. But
  Henry Wallace has again found a place next to
  President Roosevelt.

  Wallace was vice president during FDR's third
  term from 1941-1944 and secretary of agriculture
  during FDR's first two terms. Now his influence
  has been honored with the Henry A. Wallace
  Visitor, Education and Conference Center at the
  Franklin D. Roosevelt Library.

  About 250 people attended the official
  groundbreaking in the lingering chill Sunday. Speakers included state
parks
  Commissioner Bernadette Castro and U.S. Rep. Maurice Hinchey,
  D-Saugerties.
