Title: RE: Fwd: Re: candy in collections
I have always surmised water is a big factor in why Coke tastes so different around the world.

Aaargh!!! Did I say that Coca-Cola was invented by a DENTIST??? Of course I know, and meant, that it
was invented by a pharmacist, John Pemberton (1831-1888) in Atlanta in 1886 -- which makes it older
than Dr. Pepper by my reckoning.

BTW, following Lara's subthread, the best Coke I ever had was in Belgium. I don't know what made it
taste so great, but I saved the bottles and they now occupy a prominent place of honor on a shelf in
my den. The best American Coke I ever had was the pre-corn-syrup stuff from my college days at
Bowdoin. Perhaps Awt Dawstie or one of you othah Mainahs can attest to this. It was bawttled in
Lewiston-Auburn, I think, and it had a distinct cinnamonny flavah. Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Cheers!

Eric
