Job opening



Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library seeks a Librarian for Printed Books
and Periodicals.  This is an endowed position with the title, National
Endowment for the Humanities Librarian.  Responsibilities include the
building and maintenance of a strong collection of current books and
periodicals in the American decorative and fine arts, architecture, and
American cultural history from the colonial period to the early 20th
century, management of three staff members and volunteers, some reference
duties, and oversight of cataloging.

The successful candidate will have an MLS and expertise in one or more of
the library's collection areas, with a preference for the decorative and
fine arts.  The ability to work closely and effectively with our graduate
students and research fellows is essential.  Excellent computer skills and
interpersonal skills are equally important.  This is a great opportunity
to help shape an important collection and the next generation of curators,
conservators, and scholars in the library's research fields.  Competitive
