Re: historic financial records

Perhaps you mean the article in Vol. V, Nomber 1 (1980) of The Midwestern
Archivist, "Understanding and Using Early Nineteenth Century Account Books,"
by Christopher Densmore.

Subject: historic financial records

Hello!

Back in the 80s, when I was a beginning archivist, a colleague gave me an
article that was a great introduction to 19th and early 20th century
financial records--it described all the types of ledgers, how they were
interrelated, what kind of information they contained.

Does anyone recall this and have a citation for it?

Thanks!
