Profiting from digital images

I was wondering if any of you are currently using digital images as a
revenue source.?
ie. .
Charging for downloading printable files of digitized images
Offering posters or reproductions of the images for a fee?
Selling copies on CD of images or books?

Obviously there are copy right issues in some instances but not all.

One of my contacts at a Library wants input on how to create revenues
using digital images to compensate for budget cuts

Any ideas would be appreciated
and discussions Con as well as Pro are invited.

I hope all will weigh in as I wish to give this friend a full open air
discussion of the issue

thanks
