Re: InMagic

Title: RE: InMagic
To save us all my repeated paeans to Inmagic, may I suggest you take a look at the List archives, search under my name and Inmagic for a list of the several responses I have written to similar requests in the past.

This should take you right to it:

(Good lord - 17 postings on the same subject - I need a life).

I will say that for the first time ever, I have a gripe about the software.  I upgraded to the latest & greatest, V. 6, and the thing simply would not work.  There appear to be some serious issues of using Windows NT (or at least W2K) with the software, and the computer ate my homework.  Fortunately I had backed up, and the very smart techie saved the old version, so I went back to 5.2 until they get their ducks in a row.

If you do choose it, I think it's a wise idea, but I'd ask about problems using version 6 with recent versions of Windows.

It seems that there are quite a few institutions (my own included) either considering InMagic or just setting it up, so please post responses to the list.

Thanks,

Dear Members:

We have an extremely old version of InMagic software and are exploring
getting an updated version of either InMagic or similar software.  We
have used it as a database for the speeches of our founder, Leo
Burnett.

Do any of you use newer versions of InMagic, and if so, please describe
your experience.

Thanks so much for your time and wisdom,
Ilana
