InterPARES Project Manager Position



Project Staff Associate (Project Manager)

The project manager will participate in a multi-institutional project
funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission
and the National Science Foundation to research the long-term
preservation of authentic electronic records. This project is part of
the InterPARES2 Project, an international research project on
preservation of authentic non-textual and interactive electronic
records. Responsibilities for this position include coordinating and
facilitating research activities for the United States participants
in the InterPARES Project, performing necessary administrative tasks
in managing the funding for the project, and assisting in the
research work of the United States team. Position currently funded
through June 2003, with continuation beyond that date contingent on
continued funding. The project manager may be located in either
Albany, NY or in Los Angeles. Salary $42,000 for twelve months.

Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for this position are a master's degree in
library and information studies or in a discipline closely related to
the subject of the research with one to two years experience in
archives, records management, or digital preservation preferred.
Desired qualifications include knowledge of electronic record systems
and/or electronic information systems. Preference will be given to
candidates with administrative experience who demonstrate knowledge
of current issues and best practices in the management of electronic
records.
