Archives & Fiction

Hello all:

Some of you lifers on the list may remember an ancient request (okay, 1995) posted to the list that began: "Forgive what may seem a relatively frivolous request. I am in the process of compiling a list of fictional referents to archives and archivists, or even archival issues." I was much younger then and hadn't just deleted about 100 emails regarding a virtual picnic so I don't feel quite so apologetic these days.

But I am back. And I once again need the assistance of all of you wonderful people. I am working on an update to that list of novels, short stories, etc. Many of you have shared finds with the list or with David Mattison for his webpage on the subject in the intervening years and I've kept up with those--thanks to all of you who have done so.

Like last time, please feel free to email me directly. And by now surely all of you know I'm willing to share the list with you. New novels, old novels, whatever you will. I'll be glad to wade through them all.

Thanks!
Arlene Schmuland
