[B-Greek] Luke 24.7 rising "again"

Carl,

You say "drawn aside to diversionary issues" as if that were a bad
thing.

Given how important Resurrection is in the NT, the question
whether at root ANASTASIS means "standing up" or "standing
again" is a good question that Graig's post has generated.  What's
wrong with bringing in ANWQEN from John 3:3?  Whether it means
"born again" or "born above" or something else is another critical
question to ask, and what's wrong with bringing two important
questions together?   Yes, AWQEN is an adverb, but isn't the ANA prefix
in ANASTASIS or ANISTHMI  more or less functioning as as adverb?
I would add another "diversionary issue" and point to the crux of
Hebrews 6:6 ANASTAUROUNTAS and whether that means
"crucifying up" or "crucifying again."  This is another critical
question and NT Greek scripture helps us interpret NT Greek
scripture, so why would you decide a head of time that
any NT passage with ANA does not "directly pertain" to
any other?

I'm not trying to stop YOUR posts from stopping any other
posts, though.  I say on B-greek let a thousand flowers
bloom and let Carl be our weed whacker!

Please, let's not get drawn aside to diversionary issues. The word
commonly translated as "again" in the above passage is not the
compositional prefix ANA but the adverb ANWQEN,
apparently used here in a deliberate double entendre in the sense of
"from above" and also in the sense "from the top' -- i.e. da
capo,
'afresh.' This doesn't at all pertain directly to the usage of the

prefix ANA- in the verb ANISTAMAI or the noun ANASTASIS.
