I can't help but offer a corollary to this: "Once you feel confident that
you CAN read and understand the original languages of the Bible, you BECOME
one who *purports* to read and understand them!"

Bottom line: Learn the original languages of the Bible to protect yourself
from those who *purport* to read and understand them.

But alas: who can protect us from our own deficiencies? A good reason to
pray, even when reading the Bible in the original language(s).
