Detail Procedure of Delphi Survey

There will be four rounds of questionnaires in this Delphi survey and a registration session before. Each round will take about one month. A survey on the design and execution of the Delphi survey will be conducted afterwards.

The Registration Session

The registration session is to indicate that one is willing to participate. The process will include typing in the given UserID and password. The participants will be asked to make up an alias or pseudonym to be used in the survey. After completing this session, the participants can proceed to round 1.

Round 1

Round 1 is a qualitative survey (i.e. Participants will be asked to enter descriptive answer in text format.) to collect opinion on various aspects of IFHOSP.

The opinion of the participants will be summarized and presented on the web to the public after the round 1.

Round 2

Round 2 is a survey with both qualitative and quantitative (i.e. numerical) elements. Participants will be asked to rate (on a scale from 1 to 7) the relevance of the different statements from the result of round 1 to the design of IFHOSP. Participants can also express their reason behind their rating in words.

The opinion of the participants will be summarized and presented on the web to the public after the Round 2.

Round 3

Round 3 is a quantitative survey (i.e. Participants will be ask to enter numbers in responding to questions.) to rank the importance of the ideas on various aspects of IFHOSP based on the result from Round 2.

The ranking of the ideas will be presented on the web to the public after the Round 3.

Round 4

Round 4 is a quantitative survey similar to Round 3 except that the result of Round 3 will presented and the participants will be asked to rank the ideas again.

The ranking of the ideas will be presented on the web to the public after the Round 4.

Post-Delphi Survey

A survey on the design and execution of the Delphi survey will be conducted afterwards to collect opinion on the quality of the survey itself. Participants will be given a chance to give comment on any aspect of the whole process.

The tentative schedule is available. It is the aim of the researcher to carry out the survey as close to the schedule as possible and finish before December.

If you really want to find out exactly how this Delphi survey will be conducted, there is only one way - join in.
