[NAFEX] selling home produce legalities

The largest quantity of fruit our place should eventually produce is
apples. I have little worry about getting rid of them. But the various
berrries and bush fruits I have - started as a dream to produce jams etc
to sell eventually.

Ed's comment about his crandalls....."Mine top out at about 4 feet and get
so heavy with fruit that they fall over." Brought this subject back to mind,
as I am putting in a lot of ribes. I just last week heard what could be
very good news about a new regulation for home producers in Minnesota, and I
wonder if it isn't more widespread elsewhere than is recognized. This is
a new food regulation that you do not have to have a health department
fully approved stainless kitchen (can be quite expensive and overkill for
sanitation)....if you clearly post a sign saying " Produced in an
uninspected kitchen". The person who spoke of this was shut down from
selling bread at a local farmer's market for lack of inspection, but is now
legally able to sell. Del
