Hi David -

Can you let us know when the research you described in your recent e-mail
about paramagnetism is published? What journal? Or even better, can you
have the authors send a copy of the paper to me?

Solid scientific experiments need to be performed on paramagnetism, and I am
very pleased to see the experiment that you describe.

At Soil Foodweb Inc. we did our own, not-published research on paramagnetism,
where we took rock that measured high on the paramagnetic scale using the
PCSM, and rock that did not measure high paramagnetism, but which had similar
mineral content - both basalts from the Columbia River basin.

Since the idea is that it is energy that paramagnetic rocks are supposed to
impart, we wrapped the rocks in plastic bags to prevent the mineral
difference from being important. We placed the plastic wrapped rock in the
soil in pots. No one knew which rocks were in which pots, except for me, and
from that point I was not further involved in any aspect of maintaining the
experiment. Eight to ten radish seeds were planted in each pot. There was
no difference in any discernable measure between the growth of the plants in
paramagnetic and not-paramagnetic rock treatments.

But that was only one instance where paramagnetism was clearly not
influencing anything. Since the results were negative, since it was only one
trial with soil that was not high in microbes to begin, I did not publish.
But I didn't persue paramagnetism any further, waiting for someone to do some
work that would explain when paramagnetism worked, and when it did not.

Your results would strongly suggest that it is particular nutrients released
from the rocks that are more important than the paramagnetism. The high
paramagnetic rock, of a different mineral content than the less paramagnetic
rock, did not impart their high paramagnetic energy to the plants, or
microbes, or anything else. I would interpret your results to mean that the
less-paramagnetic rock released the mineral nutrients that the plants needed
in order to grow larger and have more biomass.

Would you also interpret these results in that light?

Still, it would be good to see all the methods used in order to fully judge
for ourselves. I await the published paper, but it certainly seems you have
solid data to help us understand paramagnetism.
