Yes, the bucket method is an easy way to start and the article is great. Ho=
wever, there is a reason there are so many great commercial machines all of=
 the sudden. One has to remember that the Taunton article was written at th=
e dawn of infancy of CT even if it was only a few years back!

Ted, re bubble size....let's see what Dr. Elaine's research has shown. My m=
emory is not as good as it was, but last year there was a flurry on this li=
st regarding bubble size and if I am not mistaken the conclusion was a bit =
bigger than the aquarium stones is needed.

 Yes, there is more surface area in smaller bubbles, but energy is also key=
 here in stripping out the microbes. Again in my experience, testing bucket=
 systems vs those with bigger pumps is that you get much better tea with mo=
re aeration.
