I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with fire ants here, but something
worth trying. I used to spray a strong garlic/pepper (habenaro) tea and
found that it decimated a big red ant colony here. My wife was complaining
about them attacking her when she worked in her flower bed . so I figured it
wouldn't hurt and dumped a couple cupfuls on them, next day they were all
dead and gone.

Paulette - sorry if I miss quaoted you about the aerated compost. I
recalled it that way. but must have been someone else.

About the ants. In a meetng yesterday with Elaine she described a way to
use CT to eliminate ants. CT usualaly has the right stuff but a special
addative in a form to add to the CT is available. The discussion indicated
that it was very efffective. Try

How do fire ants, both imported and domestic, fit into the soil biology

Is there some soil biology way to get rid of them?
