It is hard to get Bt into the tents of tent caterpillars.

As you say, Bacillus thurengiensis has to be ingested, and then works by causing severe disruption of the digestive system of the catepillar. I've heard this described as severe constipation or a severe case of the runs. Anyway, if the lepidopteran ingests the para-spore, it will often result in death.

Not the effect that Bob was describing. Just being picky....
