Doc E replied:< Bacteria do not attack and consume the cuticles of most in=
sects. You need Beauveria, or Entomophagus, another genus of insect-attack=
ing fungi. If you have put paper or cardboard into your compost, and have =
any natural source of these fungi in the organic matter you add to your com=
post, these fungi will typically be present.>

All true, but if you want to get caterpillars quickly, use Bt Bacillus thur=
nigiensis. Once ingested, it kills the digestive system.
