[compost_tea] Protecting potato crops against blight infection using "compost tea"

Hi Chris and others,

Jolly Farmer Products is one of the suppliers of compost tea for this
project with Eric C. Robinson's. Ours is well made AACT, having
had many many tests done with SFW. For more info regarding our
tea you can look at our web site; jollyfarmer.com and go to the
Compost Tea page; and/or look at the Quality Assurance page of
the SFW web site.

Steve Watts also has another man making compost tea on site
based on recommendations given by Paul Wagner at SFWNY.
Both compost teas used for this trial will be aerobically made.

The purpose of this trial is to compare conventional fungicide with
two types of compost tea and I think another local biological product,
each having a separate trial plot. The trial is extensive consisting of
at least 96 plots using 6 different potato varieties.

There is a lot of question in this area as to whether compost tea will
work in the East since our disease pressure is so much higher than
out West. Hopefully this trial, among others this year, will prove that
well made compost tea is a good alternative even in the wetter
growing conditions on the East Coast.

Sincerely,
Tim Livingstone
