I have come to the same place as Paulette Mouchet and Mike Bosko as regards
the name "compost tea". By changing the name away from something that
people think they know about, there is a FAR greater chance of having a
productive discussion about what it is and what it does, and avoiding
government agency problems based on THEIR thinking they know what AACT is.

I feel it is not the best and most effective use of our time and energy to
deal with a semantically- based misunderstanding. There is plenty to learn
about myself and encourage others to learn just about the basic concepts,
and learning the difference between an NPK way of thinking and a
fungal/microbial model of what goes on in the soil.

OK, so that's what it should NOT be called, IMHO. To find a good,
marketable (read: a name that makes the concept easily grasp-able once the
name is heard, first it would help to identify which characteristics of the
tea are the critical distinguishing characteristics that differentiate AACT
from e.g. manure tea, comfrey tea, anaerobic brews, leachates, and so on.

If anybody wants to list the characteristics they feel should be reflected
in the name, maybe we could come up with some suggestions right here.
