I'm relating all this to the reporting method in SFI's compost tea reports.=
They use the term (ug/ml) but I suppose you're correct that it is on a w=
et basis because they start with 1 ml of tea. So the 0.67oz. of microbes p=
roduced are wet slimy guys. The compost report seems to be adjusted to a dr=
y weight basis. So, to compare the microbes in the starting materials to t=
hose in the finished product we have to know the weight of the water in the=
microbes from the tea. And, back to the orginal point about adding sugar,=
2 ounces of syrupy molasses is producing much less than the 0.67 I stated.=
Am I right yet? I really do want to compare what is in the compost a th=
e start to what is measured in the tea by the lab. Am I growing stuff or j=
ust extracting it??

---Dave in the ex. below you converted volume to mass. Therefore
0.67 oz.(mass if you will allow me) in 25 gallons would convert to
200ppm (mass). What I'm wondering is are those microorganisms dry or
wet? I'm guessing they're filtered and wet. Dennis

a dry weight basis. The tea report is in ug/ml so there it is on a
dry weight basis for the microbes also, at least that is how I've
  always read it. Sound correct?
