Judy, Hi! You ask good questions. Even AH is not 'standard'. Jeff might be able to blend a standard by mixing one sample well then dividing that into pacs for the test. Then the quantity of AH and standard nutrients per volume of tea generated would need to be adjusted by the operator -( Honor system ! ) along with a standard type and quatity of nutrients related to gallons of ACT generated, Then we need a half dozen or more users of each type brewer to make the tests. Temp and water quality and nutrient quality and type and make of brewer and O2 condition if possible ahould all be reported in detail on a standard form.

The objective needs to be definesd as a way to devlop a list of brewers with proven performance rather than a contest to see which one will get the highers numbers. That type contest would lead to bad press for many good machines.

I think we don't want it to be like the Olympics where a dozen or more contestants drawn from thousands of expert athletes compete to isolate ONE of that dozen who gets ALL the recognition while in fact all were expert. Our service to the EARTH would be better if we end up with many proven performers.

How can a broad acceptance of good machines be achieved? Maybe instead of postingt the results as numbers it would be useful to post the results a " achieving a qualifying score" : Cum Luade ?

( Much as I would like to see the actual numbers I think hard numerical results might be misleading and might unfairly penalize many very effective machines. )
And besides that BobO probably can't handle the entire market. Grin .
Ok I stuck my neck out who will stomp on it? Other concepts? Bob

Jeff, thanks for that good news. Now we have a standard compost.

What are the next steps?

What will be the standard recipe for the size of the machine, temperature, etc.?

Should ingredients be determined by SFI?

Should compost amounts be determined by SFI or the manufacturer of the brewer?

Which one of you will take the lead and put this shebang together? (I imagine there

would be e-mails off-list in handling this.)

Who out there is willing to participate in testing? Lurkers are needed and wanted.

How many are participating and which brewers are included?

If the brewer manufacturers are not on this list will they be contacted to join the test?

Judi

If SFI does the testing, we will throw in the Alaska Humus as the compost to use......

Cheers,
