My soil micro teacher suggests there are up to 50 billion microbes
per gram of a bacterial slime. At a mid-SFI recommendation of
200ug/ml for Total Bacteria that makes about 38 grams of bacteria in
a 50 gal brew.
50 gals x 3785ml/gal x 200ug bacteria/ml = 37.8gr, or a little over
an ounce. Not much for 50 gals cookin' for 24 hrs with a little
sugar.
