Limited Space Available on European Tours and Symposium!

ANNOUNCEMENT

Limited space is still available for participation in an upcoming European
tour/symposium program, "Marketing Sustainable Agriculture." During a time
of increased crises in agriculture, when farm profits don't meet production
costs and the bottom line, many groups have chosen new and alternative
marketing strategies to create efficient and profitable food production
systems. Farmers and consumers are addressing and incorporating social and
environmental values through marketing based on regional appeal,
communicating social values in the marketplace, and assuring environmental
quality.

Program participants will tour marketing initiatives, choosing one of six
European countries (Denmark, the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, or
Switzerland). The event will culminate in a two-day symposium in the
Netherlands, where participants will share insights and experiences and
build and expand the foundations for an international active network of
marketing researchers and practitioners. Participant costs are being
partially subsidized by the German Marshall Fund, the Foundation for the
Progress of Humanity, and the Deep Ecology Foundation. Participants will be
expected to pay $1000 (plus travel costs to/from the Netherlands). European
participants are especially encouraged to apply.

For detailed information about tour itineraries and the symposium, see the
Eurotour world wide web site at http://www.iatp.org/eurotour .

This venture is sponsored by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy
(U.S.) the Centre for Agriculture and Environment (the Netherlands) and the
International Institute for Environment & Development (England), in
collaboration with the Center for Sustainable Systems, Mothers & Others for
a Livable Planet, the Food Alliance, RAFI-USA, and Sunflower Strategies,
among others.
