GBlist: transparent insulation?

Sherry,
For more info on the various high-tech glazings, check with the folk at
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, especially Steve Selkowitz and
Dariush Arasteh in the Windows and Daylighting Group. They have a number of
publications on this subject.

Also, be careful in the search for a "good insulator that allows light
through".... the plastics can have a short shelf life of transmissivity
(coloring over time) and the aerogels are still a pricey and small batch
problem.

What's wrong with just good windows? Have you read the recent book by
Carmody, Selkowitz and Heschong on Residential Windows? Some technologies
now exist that outperform many walls!

Good Luck!
