I birded Mason Farm (Chapel Hill, NC) yesterday for a couple of hours.
Because it was warm, I didn't wear my jacket, thus no bird guide. Little
did I know that what I would really need was a butterfly guide! I saw 5
species (orange sulfur, falcate orange tip, spring azure, tiger
swallowtail, and one yet to be identified). Also saw a big black rat
snake! Twenty-two species of birds and two sunning turtles rounded out a
very pleasant morning.
