Greetings fellow spring worshipers:
Yesterday, much to my shock, I had a close-up look at a Yellow-throated
Vireo. What this bird is doing on Roanoke Island on March 12 I don't know.
Not only is it very early, but I seldom see them here, period, only about
one or two a year. I don't suppose it spent the winter? I watched it for a
few minutes down low in some shrubs hoping it would vocalize but it never
happened.
