Hello All!
Given that spring is off to rather a slow start both temperature and
bird-wise here in North Carolina, I was surprised this morning to get two
early reports of male Ruby-throated Hummingbird seen at feeders this
weekend! One was in Morehead City (on the coast) and the other was in
Laurinburg. The hummer in Laurinburg (at Barbara Gearhart's) arrived late
Friday and the coastal bird appeared on Saturday.
So it's time to get those sugar water feeders up and keep your eyes peeled!
Most folks (especially inland) will not see the first returning
Ruby-throateds for another 10-14 days-- but you never know!!
