Dear carolina birders-this past weekend(14 and 15
April) I saw three wormeating warblers,2 summer
tanagers and one lone blue grosbeak--to date have seen
no indigo buntings, hooded warblers, B&W warblers or
waterthrushes--have heard no Swainson's yet either
although they are usually a little later than these in
years past--Great crested flycatchers are here and are
already commandeering nest boxes even though they have
been heard only for the last week---a few whipperwills
are being heard but nothing like the usual
number--Prothonotaries, Parulas,ovenbirds and Blue
Grey gnatcatchers are very abundant, however--Jones
county near Trenton, NC-clancy ballenger
