Actually, Last summer I saw Mississippi Kites breeding in Herman park in
Goldsboro, which I believe is further north than Laurinburg; so although
the Laurinburg kites are at the northern edge of their range, they are not
as far north as some kites go in Carolina. 
Amorning walk at Mason Farm revealed many Ovenbirds, singing Redstarts and
a Black and WHite Warbler. Alas, no Kentucky.
