Field Trip This Saturday

Hello Everyone,
Just a reminder about this weekend's field trip to Brickhouse Road. On
this past Sunday, Norm Budnitz, Patsy Bailey, and I got 80 species there
(between 5:30 and 12:30) for the Durham Spring Count. Highlights
included least bittern, marsh wren, black-throated blue, black-throated
green, prothonatary, and black & white warblers, summer tanager, turkey,
and white-crowned sparrows.

Do join me Saturday morning - details below.

Brickhouse Road is a great
                                     location for birds and butterflies.
This should be a good
time for migrant warblers as well
as breeding resident
                                     birds, such as Red-headed
Woodpecker. Leader: Carol
                                     Williamson. Bring binoculars, field
guides, a hat for sun,
and hiking shoes, plus bug spray,
water, and a snack if
desired. The trip should last about
four hours, with quite
a bit of walking on easy trails.
