Old Pactolus Road, Pitt County, North Carolina.
1900-2000 hrs, clear and breezy, 78-70 deg. F.
“OH” = seen flying over field of view.  “HO” = heard only.

Great Blue Heron - 12 (8 OH at once)
Canada Goose - 1 OH
Mallard - 3 (OH and in lake)
SANDHILL CRANE - 1 (flew in from SW, calling, just before sunset,
landed by yellow flower patch in wet pasture SE of cattle gate bridge)
Killdeer - 1 OH
Mourning Dove - 5 (fields by canal)
Barred Owl - 1 HO (woods by river)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 HO (woods)
Eastern Kingbird - 1 (fence by cattle gate bridge)
Great Crested Flycatcher - 1 HO (woods)
Barn Swallow - 10 (fields by canal)
Blue Jay - 2 HO (woods)
Carolina Chicadee - 1 (by lake)
Carolina Wren - 1 HO (in brush)
Eastern Meadowlark - 2 (field by canal)
Red-winged Blackbird - 10 (fields by canal)
Northern Cardinal - 2 HO (woods by river)
Rufous-sided Towhee - 1 HO (woods)
Savannah Sparrow - 3 (with a good view, they’re NOT Field Sparrows)

Non-birds:
Cooter - 3 (along canal)
White-tail Deer - 9 (in 2 fields, near woods)
