Special Birding Moment

Hello all,
During the Jordan Lake Bird Count yesterday, Norm Budnitz, Patsy Bailey,
and I had a quite extraordinary moment. We were walking up a path on a
hill near the dam and could hear crows nearby making quite a racket. We
wondered if they had spotted a hawk or something, but didn't see
anything. Then, as we rounded a curve, we heard a great whoosh of wings
as a mature bald eagle took off from it's perch in a pine tree--not more
than 10 feet above us!
It was an astonishing and awesome experience.
Happy Birding,
