Raleigh Buckeye Trail & swamp

Raleighbirders,

The Buckeye Trail this morning produced 10 spp. of warblers including
singing Magnolia, Worm-eating and N. Waterthrush, 4 Blackpolls in one tree,
R-b Grosbeaks, plus a Gray-cheeked Thrush and a Veery. Both thrushes were
hopping around in the grass and on the trail, mingling with the Robins. A
Spotted Sandpiper was working Crabtree Creek, and N. Rough-winged Swallows
are nesting in the bank near the sewer cistern (or whatever those big
concrete things are called) with the big orange 'A' painted on it.

In the swamp, the Tree Swallows and GB Herons are tending their nests, and a
couple of Solitary Sandpipers were taking advantage of the low water level.

Farther afield, of interest for travelers, a couple of Chucks were calling
on the north and west sides of Park & Ride lot 3 at RDU Sunday around
8:30pm.
