Eyed Click Beetle--Alaus. There are several species, including A 
oculatus. None of my sources say which are found in this area. (Was 
that in NC? Wasn't clear from your narrative--Olmito Fish Hatchery.)

the big pretty Longhorn, looks close to Plinthocoelium suaveolens, 
which is illustrated in White, Field Guide to the Beetles of North 
America (Houghtom Mifflin, 1983, Peterson Guide #29), plate 10. Not 
sure about this one. This is a good reference if you are interested 
in beetles--has lots of illustrations. Borror, Field Guide to the 
Insects, is also useful. It has lots of illustrations of stuff from 
eastern North America.
