Hilton Pond 06/08/01 (Pipsissewa)

HI . . .

I've always liked the word "Pipsissewa," which is a Native American
name for Spotted Wintergreen--topic of this week's photo essay at the
Web site for Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History

To read all about this interesting native wildflower, go to
http://www.hiltonpond.org , click on the logo for "This Week at
Hilton Pond," and select the week of 06/08/01.

As always, there's an update with photos of birds banded and/or
recaptured this week--including Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.

Lastly, if you're interested in natural history, please consider
joining the Nature Study Network via
http://www.hiltonpond.org/NatureStudyNetworkMain.html .

Happy Nature Watching,
