Hilton Pond 08/15/01 (Drought)

HI . . .

People and wildlife in these parts are suffering from the effects of
a summer drought, but it seems that York SC and Hilton Pond Center
for Piedmont Natural History are having it especially rough.

We think we may know the cause.

For details just visit http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek010815.html
for "This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 15-21 August 2001.
(This is a direct link but please feel free to browse the rest of
the Web site.)

As usual, there are seven-day totals for banded and recaptured birds,
including a photo a a young male House Finch that's finally bringing
in his red plumage.

Happy Nature Watching,

BILL
