New Hope Audubon field trip Sat. 3/16

New Hope Audubon invites all interested to attend the following field
trip. The emphasis is on wildflowers, but we will of course look at
birds and butterflies as they present themselves.

Saturday, March 16,10:00 a.m. Truck-loads of Trout Lilies. This is
prime time for the spring ephemeral wildflowers, such as Trout Lilies
and Spring Beauties. We should catch a few early spring butterflies
as well. Meet at the shopping center parking lot in front of the
Mardis Gras Bowling Lanes (behind the Hardee's) at the intersection
of highway 54, Farrington, and Interstate 40, east of Chapel Hill,
North Carolina. Note the 10:00 a.m. start--wildflowers do not get up
early, especially if the weather is cool. We will car-pool to the
site(s) of interest. No sign-up required, but contact field trip
chair Patrick Coin (patrick@coinconsult.net) if you need any more
information.

Bring binoculars and relevant field guides, if you have them.

(We will try to go whatever the weather, but obviously a heavy
downpour will make wildflower watching a bit problematic.)
