Jackson Park etc.

C'Birders,
While birding the Park this morning, Ron Selvey, John Lindfors, and I,
had great looks at a Grasshopper Sparrow on the left fork of the Nature
Trail near the little pond which often harbors the Green Heron. Ron also
heard what seemed to be an Orange-crowned, but we never did get on that
bird. Other than that we saw nothing unusual.

Late this afternoon, I was informed by Norma Siebenheller, that she and
her hubby had seen a Henslow's Sparrow on their property in Pisgah
Forest in Transylvania Cty. This is a very rare sighting in the
mountains.

I guess you could say we had an Ammodramus festival in western NC today.
