Yesterday, 4/7, @ 5:15 PM Lee Van Malssen and I stopped for a minute at
Crosswinds Marina at Jordan Lake. Saw 2 Caspian Terns on the breakwater,
with a Forster's Tern, and lots of DC Cormorants and Ring-billed Gulls.
One of the gulls was probably a Ring-billed, I am not the best gull ID'er,
but it sure was very pale/whitish all over with very small amount of brown
flecking on breast, and black on ends of wings and tail.
At home this AM, saw a Red-breasted Nuthatch in an oak by the house, 3 Pine
Siskins, a Cooper's Hawk flew by the feeders and then perched nicely in a
pine out front for a few minutes, and had a nice close up view of a Mourning
Dove, and the orbital ring was so noticeably blue and pretty, don't remember
the blue ever being so conspicuous before. A few White-throated Sparrows
still, but the Juncos seemed to have left.
