Wake Audubon



Hello Carolinabirders,

You're invited to join Wake Audubon in the following activities.

Project Litter Sweep:
April 27 - 9:00 AM.  Sponsored by DOT, Wake Audubon will be cleaning the Raleigh
Boulevard/Buckeye Trail area.  Meet at the parking lot on Crabtree Blvd. at
Raleigh Blvd.  All hands are welcome and you'll be able to check out the
progress of the Great Blue Heron chicks!  Contact Harriet - 231-8421.

Monthly Meeting:
May 14 - 7:30 PM.  "Salamander Conservation in the Southern Appalachians" will
be presented by Larissa Bailey, a PhD candidate at NCSU.  The meeting is held in
the NC Museum of Natural Science, 11 W. Jones Street.  Contact Lena, 571-0388.

Field Trip:
May 11 - Spring Bird Count.  To join a team, contact John, 755-0253.

Birdathon/Wildathon:
May 18 - Wake Audubon's annual spring fund-raising event which benefits
Audubon's NC Coastal Island Sanctuaries, Project Bog Turtle and Project Simus.

Bagels & Birding:
May 4, 8:30 AM - Informal birding on the Buckeye Greenway Trail.  Meet at the
parking lot on Crabtree Boulevard at Raleigh Boulevard.  Contact Halbert,
832-4128.

Anderson Point Avian Adventures:
May 18, 8:30 AM - Informal birding at Anderson Point Park.  Meet at the Park,
located on Roger's Lane off of Hwy. 64 East just before the Neuse River. Contact
Melody, 362-5689.

June 11, July 9, August 13 - 6:30 PM.  This year, Wake Audubon will continue to
meet throughout the summer at Anderson Point Park for a pot luck picnic and
nature walk.  Bring your family, your own picnic supplies, drinks and a dish to
