raptor electrocutions

Just received email notification that a large western utilities company has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US Fish and Wildlife Service
regarding preventative measures that should greatly reduce raptor
electrocutions on powerlines. The effort was spearheaded by NAFA (North
American Falconers Association) and included input from several other
conservation organizations such as Audubon. I have heard that this is a
problem on a much lower level here in North Carolina, with specific
reference to some pole structures in the Asheville area. Does anyone recall
seeing a bird dangling from or underneath a powerline?
