Golden-winged Warbler site information

Hello again,
I neglected to give information in my posting yesterday (see below) as
to our location here in the High Country where we have Golden-winged
Warblers. We are in extreme northwest Ashe County, NC, on the border of
Virginia and Tennessee, elevation 3600 feet. My apologies.

Another interesting note is the continued presence of Evening Grosbeaks
and Pine Siskins at the feeders. This seems late compared to our
observations over the last few years. The Purple Finches which were present
all winter have not been seen in over a week.

<Hi folks,
Thought I would let you know the Golden-winged Warblers have returned to
the farm today. We heard two individuals singing about the same time at two
different areas. Last year we heard the first birds on April 28th so they
are fairly close to schedule this season. With the increasing rarity of this
bird it is always comforting to hear them each year once again. We also had
the first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the season show up at the feeder.
Quite a nice day here in the High Country! Good birding to all.>
