Was eating dinner tonight in the backyard and realized that at one time I
was wathching a Rose Breasted Grosbeak, two Cardinals, a Red Bellied
Woodpecker, a Downy Woodpecker, several House Finches, a Robin, a
Mockingbird, a Blue Jay, several Grackles, several Mourning Doves and
listening to a Chickadee and Ca. Wren. Amazing!! The grosbeak is a real
rarity for my yard. I have only ever seen one once before here-early last
May. This one showed up this a.m. around 7:30 for a few minutes and then
he--or another one--came back tonight. Lots of activity for a small urban
backyard this month, and boy is it fun.
